49th Annual Conference of the Association of Canadian Ergonomists (ACE)
&
6th Conference of Centre for Research in Occupational Safety and Health (CROSH)

Holiday Inn, Sudbury, Ontario
October 15-18, 2018 / du 15 au 18 octobre 2018

We are pleased to announce the Association of Canadian Ergonomists (ACE) joint conference in collaboration with the Centre for Research in Occupational Safety and Health (CROSH). This partnership will be a first for Northern Ontario, and so the excitement has started!

The theme “From Research to Practice to Prevention” illustrates the cycle in the prevention of injuries and illnesses. It signifies the research work by CROSH but also echoes continued effort by ACE to promote research and awareness of ergonomics and human factors. The 2018 Conference will explore the many ways both ergonomics and health and safety comprehension is expanding, and how the application of this knowledge can have a positive impact on everyone in any sector.

2018 Conference will be of interest to ergonomics/human factors professionals, health and safety professionals, researchers and students, rehabilitation, industrial hygiene, industrial design, human resources, psychology, engineering, and educators

You are invited to contribute to this conference by submitting abstract and workshop proposals in either French or English. Guidelines and deadlines for submissions will be made available on the ACE website in early 2018. The annual student paper competition in the Undergraduate and Graduate level categories will be held in conjunction with the conference.

The conference will be held at the Holiday Inn in the heart of Sudbury, Ontario, located in the south end of town near restaurants, Science North, Kivi Park, the Laurentian Conservation Area, as well as CROSH’s home at Laurentian University (LU). The conference center also offers complimentary parking, wireless internet, heated indoor pool, indoor whirlpool, and fitness center.

Don’t let our location in the North fool you – Sudbury is easily accessible by land and air - from all directions. You may think rock and mining but we have so much more to offer including a teaching hospital Health Sciences North, our bilingual university LU, Collège Boréal (French) and Cambrian College (English), as well as over 300 lakes that make up our outdoor playground. So come to learn, and then plan to stay and play! For more information on the City of Greater Sudbury, check out http://www.sudburytourism.ca

We look forward to hosting you in Sudbury!
